Learn 2 Play

Aussie Hoops is the “Learn 2 Play” program for Penrith & Districts Basketball Association where children are taught a range of fundamental basketball skills such as footwork, ball skills, lay ups, passing & catching, shooting and game skills while providing great games, entertainment and loads of fun.

When children have developed basic skills and learnt some simple rules, they can then progress into Under 8′s gametime or join a basketball team and play in the Association’s Junior Competition from U10′s to U18′s Men and Women.

Children receive coaching from our experienced coaches and players who have graduated through the Penrith Association’s Junior program.

Our program provides three participation levels – Years K, 1. Years 2, 3, 4. And Years 5 & 6.

Sessions are  conducted three days per week, and we have two coaches allocated to each court teaching children.

All children are catered for and we will try to accommodate all requests if possible.

Aussie Hoop Schedule at Penrith Sports Stadium

TUESDAY: YEAR 2, 3 AND 4:
Sign on and payment 4.15pm – Session begins at 4.30pm sharp and finishes 5.30pm on Court 5

WEDNESDAY: YEAR 5 AND 6:
Sign on and payment 4.45pm – Session begins at 5.00pm sharp and finishes 6.00pm on Court 5

THURSDAY: YEAR K – 1:
Sign on and payment 4.00pm – Session begins at 4.15pm sharp and finishes 5.15pm on Court 5

SATURDAY:    YEARS K – 2: and YEARS 3-6
Sign on 8.45am -  Session 9.00am -   10.00am on Court 4 or Court 1 (depending on availabily)

U8 MIXED GAMETIME
10.00am Saturday – Immediately after the Aussie Hoops session

INVESTMENT IN THE PROGRAM:
Weekly: $5.00 per 1 hour session

Registration of $15.00 is payable for players moving into the U8 modified games

BASKETBALLS MAY BE PURCHASED FOR $12.00
If children purchase a basketball they are required to bring their basketball to each session and it should be clearly labelled. We recommend that all children bring a full drink bottle.

All lessons are conducted at Penrith Sports Stadium located at Herbert Street, Cambridge Park [opposite Cambridge Park High School].
